Well I am finally remembering to update you on Sarah's report card. She got her third marking period report card las week. She not surprisingly got ALL A'S. Then last month she took a test called the IOWA test. Selected grades take it. I am not sure which ones but anyway her grade took it this year. She did very well. We got a letter from the school this week saying she did so well that she qualifies to be tested for the gateway program. I don't totally understand it but I know a little from what Sarah told me. She will go to a special teacher once a day for a specific subject or subjects. I think she qualifies for reading and math. Which is surprising becuase I didn't think she was doing that well in math. Anyway she is going to be tested for that this coming week I think. So I have a smart little girl that earned $11 for a wonderful report card. She gets a $1 for each A (she had 10) and an extra $1 for each 100% (she had one).
Albert got excepted into the preschool program. YAY!! So this coming school BOTH our kids will be in school. I was a little worried about him getting in. I don't know why but I was. I know they choose the kids that need the most help first then fill in spots from there. I know Albert needs some help but he isn't that behind I don't think. He definitely isn't as fast as a learner as Sarah. It takes him quite a while longer to understand things. He doesn't follow directions very well either. Then there is his speech. Most people can't understand most of what he says. He is behind in that area. They already told me he needs to be screened for his speech. Albert is going to be more to the normal level than Sarah is. I am not use to that. I am use to Sarah going over and beyond other kids. So this is going to be an adjustment for me. I never really worried about Sarah much. I knew she would be OK. But I do worry about Albert. Him riding the bus is what worries me the most. I am quite worried about the day that he doesn't want to go to school. I am going to have trouble getting him to go on the bus if he doesn't want to. I don't know lots of things worry me. Albert tells me I worry to much. He said I worried to much about Sarah too. Well that's what mothers do right? We were at a tent sale at the BX/Commissary and they had back packs for $4.97. They had a bus one. Well Albert just loved it. He just had to have. I couldn't say no 5 bucks can't beat that. So anyway we bought it for him. He is now so excited about going to school. He tells everyone he comes across. That he is going to school soon. We put his backpack in the closet in his room. He doesn't play with it. He does however go and 'check' on it from time to time. Then he'll come to me and say. I have a school bus back pack. He is so funny. It is hard to believe Albert is starting school and Sarah will be 3rd grade. My babies aren't babies anymore. They grow up way to fast.
