pictures

The below pictures are from Albert. Little Albert was quite excited about the what he called a tractor but turns out it is called a gator. He also wanted to know if his Daddy drove one of those and turns he doesn't. He gets to drive a big forklift. I showed Albert the picture of the plane and his eyes got all big and he asked me "Daddy fly away?" I think maybe he understands that Daddy went away now or at least he knows he flew in a plane. Who can quite tell what kids are thinking? All Sarah said was that she thought Albert looked like he was hot.

Albert called

Albert called today. He pretty much hates his job at the moment. He is working in the storeroom. Tomorrow (Sunday the 30th) will be his first day off since being there. He does his normal store room stuff then he also is water boy. I am not exactly certain what all that means. What I know is that he takes water all around the base to different places. He also said he has a bunch of airmen that this is their first deployment and they are whiny. They keep him really busy. I feel bad for him. He works so hard and people tend to take advantage of him because he does work so hard. This is going to be a very long deployment for him. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is already a bit stressed and he hasn't even been there that long.

The kids are doing well so far. Little Albert still asks where his daddy is from time to time. One morning he got up out of bed and saw that the van was here. Well normally that means his Daddy is at home. He was absolutely positive that his Daddy was here hiding from him somewhere. (Daddy likes to play hide and seek with the kids) Anyway after a while he realized maybe mommy was telling the truth and Daddy wasn't here. After he realized he cried for a while. Poor little fellow that broke my heart. I can tell him and tell him that his Daddy isn't coming home for a really long time but he does not understand. A really long time to him is about an hour. Sarah is dealing with it well. She emails him and he emails her. She gets so excited that her Daddy emailed her. Her face lights all up and she is momentarily the happiest kid alive. The kids make Albert being away a little easier. They are just the best kids a mother could ask for.

UPDATE on the unknown flower. It is a spider lily. As it turns out I got an email advertisement from the place online I bought flowers from before telling they were on sale. God works in mysterious ways. Anyway my unknown pretty flowers from the previous owners are now known.

A little from albert

The following is from an email I got from Albert. Thought maybe you would want to know what he is up to.

I am working 12hrs. Work is good, yes I had tocome to work the day I got here. I am in the store room and deliveringbottled water to the base. It's a pain in the butt. At least after I get thewater deliveries done and the inventory put away we don't have a lot of workto do otherwise. Well I've got to go to a briefing and then make some rounds.

The time difference from here (LA) to there (Kuwait) is eight hours so all of you that are on the East Coast that would be seven hours difference I believe. Anyway Sarah was sick again yesterday. We have had a tummy bug go around the house. We just can't seem to get rid of it. I had it twice and so did the kids. Albert (big one) got it first and he was the only one to get it once. Well I think we are done with it now. I hope so anyway.

Guess that flower game

Ok so below are some pictures of a flower that has grown in my yard. Upon further inspection I have about 30 or so bulbs that I beleive may be this flower they are all just now starting to grow. My question is what in the world is it?

Now this is where you all come in. I am sure someone knows what this flower is. Albert called it a spikey flower. Sarah called it a dragon flower or something to that effect. I have no clue what it is. So if you know what it is then maybe you could tell me how to take care of it. The part of our yard you are looking at is the back. That nice tree is in the middle of our brick patio. Yep right in the middle. It use to be almost completely covered in ivy. I got most of the ivy out but the dumb stuff won't quit growing. it is all over our yard. I like morning glories a lot but we also have those all over our yard. It is hard to keep up with. It grows on the bushes and the fence and all kinds of places I don't want it. I think I could pick ivy and morning glories everyday about. Ok so now it's your turn to write and tell me what that flower is. It is very unique. I haven't decided whether I like it or not.

more Albert updates.

Albert called yesterday evening from Virginia. His plane didnt actually leave here until 8 am. So 3 hours after it was supose to. Well that of course messed up them catching their plane in Virginia. So he ended up spending most of the day in the air port in Virginia. He was really tired from being up all night the night before. So he said he laid down on the floor and slept some. He was supose to leave there at 8 pm last night for Ireland. He said he would send me an email when he got there. Yesterday was a long day. The kids were both a little grumpy from having been up in the middle of the night before. Sarah was a real trooper she went to school on time and everything. This morning Albert was looking for his Daddy. I am not sure how to make him understand that Dad isn't coming home for a long time. I told him that his Daddy went away in an airplane and he ran and got his shoes and said let's go. I wish I could make him understand but I guess he will realize eventually.

Albert is on his way

Albert left this morning. His plane was supose to take off at 5 am. I haven't heard anything from him yet. I took him over to catch the bus that was taking him to the plane at 3 this morning. We are missing him already even though he hasn't been gone 24 hours yet. We are ok though. Sarah hasn't cried yet but I think she might this evening when he is not at supper. Albert has asked for Daddy only once. He is too little to understand that Albert went away and isn't coming home for a few monthes. I thought after so many deployments and going away for school that him leaving would get easier but it doesn't. Each time is just as hard as the last. When he went away for school in umm I think it was March that wasn't too bad. I got to talk to him everyday because he had his cell phone. I can't do that this time. All I can say is THANK YOU LORD FOR EMAIL. I will continue to post things as I hear from him.

The Chef

This picture (above) is how Albert is suppose to wear his hat.
This picture is Albert is being silly.
Anyway Albert came home with his hat so I thought I would take a picture of him looking like the chef he is. He is very handsome I think but I suppose that's because he is my husband. He leaves on Thursday (Sept. 20th) unless something changes between now and then. I have his mailing address and email. I will send that around via email. I can not post the info on here because this is a public space. If you read this and have not gotten that info and would like it please just ask and I will send it your way. I try to get information like that to everyone but sometimes I accidentally miss someone. I have more stuff I could post but I don't want to use it all up at once so more to come I guess. You all take care.

Albert News

Albert finally has a date for when he is leaving. He is leaving the 20th. So looks like next Thursday. We are as ready as one can be. It looks as if he will be coming back sometime in the first part of February. I am looking forward to him coming home. I know he hasn't left yet but you know at least then he is back and won't have to leave for a while then. I have known for some time now that he was going to be gone for christmas but it doesn't make it any easier. It is turning out the last few years for christmas just wasn't good for us. christmas 2005 Albert was in Iraq. Christmas 2006 we were just getting here and we were still in temporary housing so we didn't even really have a christmas tree. Then this christmas Albert will be in Kuwait. So christmas time just isn't turning out to be our time. Oh well he should be here next christmas though. The last time he was gone we had santa deliver our presents after Albert came home. I don't think we are going to wait this time. Albert will be gone longer this time so we aren't waiting I don't think. Anyway Albert is about packed. He has a few more little things to pack but mostly he is packed. He has out processing stuff to do on Friday. He works on Sunday then he leaves on Thursday.

Boys will be boys

I am not sure which Albert was having more fun with this project. He is moving bricks from outside to inside. Through out the yard buried under foliage I found lots of bricks. So as I have been cleaning up the yard I have found quite a few. I had been stacking them next to the work shop. I figured that wasn't the best thing when I noticed that geckos like to hang out there.
This is a dirty little boy. My most recent project I have started is getting the rocks out of the yard. Well Albert just loves to dig in the dirt. You can only see the front half. He is covered on the backside too. He also has a ton in his hair. I have no idea how he ended up with it all over his face. Our yard at one time I think was suppose to be all rocks and them stepping stones for the path to the work shop. Well it wasn't kept looking nice and not done properly or something because it looks terrible. So I am trying to clean it up enough that we can use the lawn mower back there. It is proving not to be very easy. Albert keeps telling me that all this work I am doing will pay off in the end. I will have just have to trust him I guess.
This is a gecko. We have tons of them all around the house. In the evening we you go outside you have to be careful because they are all over the outside of the house and it isn't just my house either. The neighbor said they are on her house too. Well ours aren't just on the outside. Some how or another they are finding their way IN THE HOUSE. Last night Thomas (our dog) was a baby one around the dining room for a while before Albert realized what he was doing. Then about a week ago. I had placed towels on the floor in front of washer at night after our baths so I could put them in the washer in the morning. Well when I picked up the last towel a little unwanted house guest fell out and ran under the washer. It is good he ran away because I couldn't have caught him anyway. I would just like to know how they are getting in.
This is Albert being a good daddy and trying to catch a gecko for little Albert. I don't know why they enjoy catching them. I guess it is a boy thing.
