Well we made it safe and sound to Texas. It's been a long process and we are not quite done yet. We are staying in temporary housing right now. We won't get our house until the 19th of June I think. The room we are staying in is a 1 bedroom 1 bath room place. So we are in a small space so I try to get out and do something every day. We are having a good time doing stuff though. We've done a few different things while we've been here. I am really liking it here. It's hot but not as humid as Louisiana so it doesn't bother me as much. It's a small area. It is much smaller than I thought it would be but I like it. The bad side of it being a small area is that we have to drive a bit to get anywhere. Also things are very spread out. I will post a few pictures from things we've done.
This first picture is when we were staying at the FamCamp at Barksdale. They had mobile homes there to rent and that's where we stayed after they the movers took our stuff. They were really nice. It was a 3 bedroom 2 bath place. This is a stump that we found and of course Albert had to climb on it.
I wanted to try to grow out Albert's hair a bit. He let it grow a while but he got tired of it. So his dad cut it off. Albert started cutting the top first. I saw him like this and told him he looked like an old man and he thought that was hilarious. He is so funny.
The next few pictures are of our trip to the water lilly and rose garden. Albert took me and the kids even though sight seeing in a garden isn't his cup of tea. He's so good to me. :)
That red flower was HUGE! I had sarah put her face by it to show just how big it was. It's as big as her head.
This pink flower was the same size as the red one in the previous picture. They were really pretty.
Katey looking at the really big red flowers.
The most interesting thing about the place for Albert was that pile of dirt. It looked like they were doing some work in this part of the garden and Albert wanted so bad to play on it. He was good though and didn't climb up it.
The cactus here grow everywhere. It grows like weeds. I find them fascinating for some reason.
Pretty lily pad!
They had different pools that had different types of lily pads in them. This is a view looking down the big pool in the middle. I took more pictures of this pool but some how they were deleted from my phone. The ones I really wanted to show every one didn't make it on here. But if you look real hard way down toward the end are HUGE lily pads. They looked like Katey could stand on them and they wouldn't sink. They were quite awesome looking.
The 2 older kids posing for mom!
I took a picture of this because it was just odd looking. I wish my phone would have been able to capture them in more detail. They look to me like something you'd find under water and not here growing in the dirt. It's thick little green things that resemble inch worms.
Aren't they a good looking group!
My pretty girl!
Pretty purple flowers. This is the first thing we saw when we got there. My pictures aren't in order but that's ok you get the point anyway.
The next 2 pictures are an over view of the water lily pools.
Pretty red roses from the rose garden section.
Sarah stopping to smell the roses! :)
This bush was kind of cool. It had pink, orange and white flowers all on the same bush.
This bush thing was I think just cool looking. It was also very pokey. I wouldn't want to accidently fall on that one.
This plaque was in the rose garden surrounded by the above rose bushes. It was to honor those that gave the gift of life through organ donation.
The next couple pictures are from our trip to the park. That park was pretty cool. It had a little kid and big kid section. It had castle type tops on some the things. It was just fun!
And to Andrew's pleasure it had a train!!! The only thing better would have been a car. hehe
My little man on a rockey horse.
Albert was crawling through the tunnel when I found him. So that's where he got his picture taken.
Ok finally our trip to the pool.
Daddy was showing Andrew to crawl along the bottom.
:) I love that man! :)
My little man!
Playing with daddy!
Albert trying to swim.
Giving Mom a smile before swimming off.
I told her to smile and she tells me "mom really?" hehe "yes really sarah now smile"!
So as you can see we are enjoying our summer vacation time! We've had lots of fun and there is still more on our list of to do things. We had a picnic today. I almost forgot that part. We stopped and got some food and took it to the park and had a picnic. We were watched by blackbirds and geese the whole time. I think they were waiting for us to leave to see what food we left behind.
Tomorrow we are going to a Hobo festival at the railway station. Then a car and bike show. I am enjoying the time together as a family making new memories with the kids. I however am ready to have a house and my things back.
